Production Operator

Johnson Matthey's Catacel Technology Center, located in Ravenna, Ohio, engineers and manufactures break-through, proprietary catalytic heat-exchanging materials that significantly reduce costs in the hydrogen production and fuel cell industries. Johnson Matthey is looking for 1st and 2nd Shift Production Operators who will provide production operations support and services.
The Production Operator is responsible for performing coating operations, assembly and providing associated support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for safe work practice, reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, good housekeeping practices
Responsible for operation according to work instructions
Responsible for in-process monitoring of product quality
Responsible for efficient operation as individual member of a work team
Responsible for making recommendations for continuous improvement
Use of basic hand and power tools
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education equivalent to:
High School graduate level competence in written/verbal English language and mathematics
Job related work experience skills/knowledge requirements:
Use of hand-held measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, and ruler) is desirable, but not necessary
Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination
Ability to visually detect differences in similar parts
Observant, Conscientious, Dependable, Coachable
Basic computer skills, including data entry, are required
Mechanical aptitude
Safety - must work safely and encourage safe work by others
Flexibility with different tasks/equipment
Attention to Detail ? noticing that parts are different or not within specification; working to specification and according to work instructions
Good work ethic ? must be to work when scheduled, put in consistent effort, and strive for improvement
Continuous Improvement ? make thoughtful suggestions for improvement

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
