F&CS - VETM - Community Support Specialist

The VISTA Member will work closely with the Director of Veterans Services, Program Assistant, and Director of Housing & Emergency Supportive Services to help develop various partnerships with local, regional and national agencies that will provide a range of support for the veteran, information for the community on homelessness among veterans, and help FCS Veterans Programming and Mahoning County build capacity in response to the issue of homelessness among veterans. Duties will include working with local community partners, researching other community's solution to the homeless problem, working with other non-profits, and creating presentations and events to inform the community of the gaps, needs, and solutions. The VISTA Member will develop valuable interpersonal skills, learn about community programming for veterans, learn about community planning for homeless issues, community outreach, public speaking and program development. VISTAs will find this position both challenging and very rewarding! Our VISTA will begin on July 2, 2017. This is an ideal learning environment for anyone interested in the field of Social Work, research, community outreach, project management, veterans affairs and facility management, just to name a few. VISTA will be based in Ravenna, Ohbut will also work with Program Administration located inYoungstown, Ohio. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
